Ele terá o mesmo ciclo de atualização do browser Firefox. Sim, a cada seis semanas uma nova versão do Firefox OS estará disponível. Mas a Mozilla promete atualizações pequenas, de até 40MB, até para não comprometer o plano de dados de quem usá-lo no 3G.
Em relação ao hardware, o modelo mais barato a chegar às lojas terá a potência similar a um Nexus S, promete a Mozilla, e com preço bem mais baixo – os US$ 100. A Mozilla falou em processador de 1,4 Ghz e 1GB de RAM por cerca de R$ 200 e isso parece ótimo. É mais potente do que o protótipo divulgado na semana passada. O sistema é leve e promete baixo consumo da bateria – o primeiro protótipo chegou a ter a bateria durando uma semana, e os modelos mais recentes duram entre dois e três dias, o que é bem acima do que fazem smartphones em geral.
