AMD Athlon II é o primeiro chip barato de 45 nanômetros

Não é surpresa que logo após seu aniversário de 40 anos a AMD queira se lembrar de seus bons dias, em que brigava de igual pra igual com a Intel. O Athlon II X2 marca a continuação da tradicional linha Athlon, agora com chips de 45 nanômetros, saindo por apenas 87 dólares.

A linha Athlon II X2 começa em 3 GHz, suporta memória DDR3 e tem socket AM3 (compatível com o anterior AM2+). A AMD também revelou o Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition, o primeiro Phenom com dois núcleos, que deve bater nos 100 dólares, mas vem com overclock por padrão.

Infelizmente, é só isso de novidade para a AMD: nenhum concorrente à altura do Atom, da Intel, nem novas placas de vídeo da ATI.

AMD Athlon II X2 Processor Details
The AMD Athlon II X2 250 performs exceptionally well when combined with AMD chipsets and integrated graphics solutions to create an all-AMD platform. Platforms featuring all-AMD technology can deliver up to twice the graphics performance of those with Intel integrated graphics.¹
